Lingo Yurt School was created to be a user-friendly website.

Under Home, you can explore more about Lingo Yurt in general, Lingo Yurt Translation and Editorial Services, Lingo Yurt School, the English School, the German School and of course how to use this site. You do not need a Login to access the subcategories under Home.

How to register and receive a Login

If you decide to study our Courses, use the Communication forums and download or print course material from our Library, you need to register first. Do to this, you can click on Register in the main menu and fill in the registration form or you can contact us directly. You will then receive a Login which gives you access to all Courses, Course Material and Communication Centres.

The language tutor will recommend courses to you and develop an individual study program for you. You are welcome to study any of the courses listed on our website, however we do recommend following the assigned program.

Courses

The courses have been divided into sections based on the language ability and age group of the student. When you register with us in any other language than English/ German, you are automatically assigned to the first course 'Getting to know the language'.

We offer different activities and material for various age groups and interests. We recommend you start from the beginning of your specific age group, but you are of course welcome to discover the other sections, too. In addition to the four categories regarding the level of language (Getting to know the language, Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced), Lingo Yurt School offers specific courses on Industrial English/ German, Business English/ German, Academic English/ German, and a small section on Medical English/ German. The latter is currently under construction.

Lingo Yurt created its own Guides to the English and German Grammar which can be found under Courses or in our Library. All our course material can be either downloaded or printed from the Library.

We do not supply Dictionaries but under Courses and/or Library you can find links to dictionaries from English to Language X and vice versa.

Communication Centres

The forums are part of our study program. Here you can take part in online classes or simply join a discussion round on a specific topic in one of our conference centres. It is your opportunity to practice your newly acquired knowledge and to meet with other members of the language centre. Conference Centres

These are open to all students at all times. We ask everyone to follow the chosen discussion topic for the specific forum. Our forums are for you to practice your writing skills as well as to participate in a discussion round of your interest. The topics are chosen by the students in agreement with the language tutor.

All forums are acting as means of communication. Therefore, we ask you to be polite and formal in all your communication with other participants (no slang, no swearing).

Library

All Lingo Yurt School members have permission to download our audio and visual files as well as to print out our course material. You are welcome to distribute material to your friends and family members and also to use it at your local school/ university and community centres. We ask you to respect the copy right of the material that you take from our site. For more information on distributing material, please contact our team directly.

If you have questions on anything relating to Lingo Yurt (i.e. technical issues with the website, courses and material) you can go to Help in the main menu and fill in the form.

Register

In order to register, please fill in the registration form and send it to our language tutor by email. Click on Register in the main menu, click on download registration form. A window appears asking you to open, save or cancel the file. Click on Save and save the file on your desktop. Fill in the form and send it to our language tutor by email.
